Description
(read Trinity #40)
Xiu is a dragon created by Zigia before the creation of Xiusphyre (Oh huh... "Xiu" means "hope" in Draconic, "sphyre" is "sphere") . Zigia is the actual Guardian of her world, but needs an assistant sometimes, this is why Xiu is destined to become the Guardian in turn.
I won't say anymore about it because I'm working on a comic project telling this story. In fact, I made this drawing (which normally should be in the comic) to have an overview and find exactly how could looks a passage of the story...
Several hours to make it.
Made with normal color pens (faber castell polychromos) for tint, felt pens (stabilo point 88) for lineart.
I increased contrast to get the original golden effect.

Very impressing. The picture is nicely balanced, too.
This technique of color-blending is very smooth. Though some other people might think it's not "precise" enough and leaves too much white, I like it, and I wonder what it would look like if you mixed it with big strong lines/shade of black ink. I believe it would be interesting.
Anyway this is a good technique to create such light effects. It really kicks, the fire, the reflections. There are good contrasts of warm and cold colors. The fine lines help mark the small details, the dark background creates a good depth. I like it!
